Does red-light therapy reduce pain?

Promising but highly protocol-dependent

Photobiomodulation has been tested for pain across several conditions, with some trials and reviews reporting benefit. Results vary by diagnosis, wavelength, energy dose, treatment site, schedule and comparator. A positive result for one condition and protocol does not establish that any red-light device relieves pain generally.
